Gravity 3D at IMAX Melbourne

Join me for *Gravity* in 3D on the giant screen at IMAX Melbourne on Sunday 11 October. It's one of those films that really belongs in a cinema this size — the kind of thing that's worth leaving the couch for. We'll meet outside the IMAX Melbourne gates at 6:15pm for a quick hello, head in together around 6:25pm to get seated, and the film starts at 6:35pm. It should wrap up around 8:15pm, and that's where the meetup finishes. This is just a casual social group going along together — it isn't run by, affiliated with, or endorsed by IMAX Melbourne. Please book your own ticket directly with them; an RSVP here is not a ticket and doesn't include entry. **Who this is for** * Anyone who enjoys big-screen cinema and doesn't want to go on their own * People who are happy with a relaxed, low-key meetup — we say hi before, watch a film, and part ways after * Coming solo? Very welcome. Most people do, and that's the whole point **Links** * Meetup start point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/nheDYkgFXyMURvzc8 * Tickets / session info: https://web.imaxmelbourne.com.au/films/GRAVITY-3D/HO00000113 * Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JML-WzLUNmg **Timeline** * 6:15pm – Meet outside the IMAX Melbourne gates and say hello * 6:25pm – Head inside and get seated * 6:35pm – Film starts * \~8:15pm – Film ends and the meetup finishes **Tickets / cost** * Book your own ticket directly through IMAX Melbourne using the link above. * I'm in seat E20. If you'd like to sit near the group, pick a seat close to that one when you book. * Book early if you can — popular sessions can sell out, and seats near mine will go first. **Transport** * IMAX Melbourne is in Carlton, right by Melbourne Museum and Carlton Gardens. * Trams along Nicholson and Rathdowne Streets stop nearby, and Parliament Station is a walk away through the gardens. * There is paid parking under the museum if you're driving — check current rates yourself before you rely on it. **Expect** * Difficulty: none — it's a movie * Pace: relaxed, with a short catch-up before the film * Vibe: friendly and low-pressure, no need to know anyone * Group style: we sit together where seating allows, and there's no obligation to stay and chat afterwards **Important notes** * Please book and pay for your own ticket directly with IMAX Melbourne. * This meetup isn't organised by or affiliated with IMAX Melbourne — I've just arranged for a few of us to go along together. * Please arrive by 6:15pm so we can get in and seated before the film starts. If you're running late, head straight in — I'd rather you catch the film than miss the start looking for us. * Session times can change at the venue's discretion, so double-check your booking on the day. * Follow cinema rules and staff instructions, and please keep phones away once the film starts. * If your plans change, please update your RSVP so numbers stay clear.
