October Film Club | Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person (2023)
Sun, Oct 25, 8:00 PM# π October Film Club \| Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person \(2023\) **A little something macabre for Halloween! π§ββοΈ (Please read the registration rules below!!!)** Join us for an afternoon of cinema, coffee, and conversation as we watch *Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person* (2023), a Canadian dark comedy with an unusual take on vampire mythology. **About the film** Sasha is a young vampire with a serious problem: she's too sensitive to kill. When her frustrated parents cut off her blood supply, she meets Paul, a lonely teenager who might just have a solution to her predicament. Darkly funny, charming, and surprisingly tender, the film explores loneliness, empathy, and the difficulties of finding your place in the world. ## π¬ What to expect After the Credits is a small, informal film club where watching the movie is only half the experience β the other half is talking about it! We usually gather around 10β20 movie lovers for a screening followed by an open discussion. No film education or special knowledge is required. Whether you're a dedicated cinephile or simply curious about the movie, you're very welcome. Here's how our afternoon usually unfolds: * **Coffee & introductions:** Arrive, grab a coffee, and get to know some fellow movie lovers. * **Film introduction:** A brief introduction before we start the screening. * **Movie time!** We watch the film together. * **Coffee break & discussion:** After the screening, we take a short break before getting together to exchange impressions, interpretations, and questions. There's no right or wrong way to interpret a film. Different perspectives are encouraged, and disagreement is always welcome! ## π€ Halloween dress code Since we're meeting just before Halloween, let's make **black our theme for the day**. Nothing elaborate required β just wear something black if you'd like to join in. And if you're feeling more adventurous, you're welcome to dress as a movie character instead! ## π When & where **Date:** Sunday, October 25, 2026 **Time:** 4:00 p.m. **Location:** 50 High Park Ave., TV Room (Clubhouse), Toronto ## ποΈ Registration β please read! **A Meetup RSVP does not reserve your seat.** We have limited capacity, so everyone attending must register through Eventbrite: [https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/film-club-humanist-vampire-seeking-consenting-suicidal-person-2023-tickets-2003056783761?aff=oddtdtcreator](https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/film-club-humanist-vampire-seeking-consenting-suicidal-person-2023-tickets-2003056783761?aff=oddtdtcreator) ## π Stay connected After the Credits also organizes casual outings to Toronto cinemas, festivals, and special screenings. Snyder, this acclaimed documentary follows librarians on the front lines of an escalating wave of book bans across America. As books addressing race and LGBTQ+ experiences are challenged and removed from schools and libraries, librarians find themselves facing harassment, threats, and political pressure.
