Taking the Mask Off: Thursday Night Men’s Group

Thu, Oct 15, 10:30 PM
From Columbus Men of Honor

Taking the Mask Off: Thursday Night Men’s Group We are a group of men that meet regularly to build deeper connection, personal growth, accountability, and integrity. If you’re looking for more than surface-level conversations and want a place to connect with other men while learning more about yourself, this might be the group for you. This is a place where all of you is welcome, the parts of your life that are going well and the parts that aren’t. You can bring your wins, struggles, anger, fear, grief, the questions you have, relationships, leadership, or your desire for greater mission and purpose in life, or whatever is showing up. Our meetings include a short opening, a few discussion rounds, and an opportunity to experience some of the tools we use in men’s work. You can participate as much or as little as you choose. You do not need any previous experience with men’s groups or personal development. This is not therapy, and you do not need to be in some sort of crisis to attend. Some men come because something in their life needs to change. Others are doing well and are looking for more mission and purpose, connection, accountability, self-discovery, and growth. All men 18 and older are welcome. Participation is voluntary, and confidentiality is paramount. This is a structured group so punctuality important. Please RSVP or if you have questions CONTACT: Preston Moore 979-255-3057 (call or text) preston@kprestonmoore.com

Interested? Contact Preston Moore k.preston.moore@gmail.com 614-300-5989 ———————————— Engaging in men’s work is the new way to forge friendships while being open-minded to personal growth. Many men experience healthier relationships, personally and professionally, by engaging in this work. Open Men’s Group is a container for men to share vulnerably without receiving judgment or feedback. We believe that emotionally mature, powerful, compassionate, and purpose-driven men will help heal some of society’s deepest wounds. We support the powerful brilliance of men and we are willing to look at, and take full responsibility for, the pain we are also capable of creating – and suffering. We care deeply about men, our families, communities, and the planet. Visit ManKind Project USA to discover more. https://mkpusa.org/

CMG Gives Back: Serve Brunch at FAITH MISSION GRANT KITCHEN!

CMG Gives Back: Serve Brunch at FAITH MISSION GRANT KITCHEN!

Sun, Oct 18, 2:20 PM
From The Columbus Movie Group
4.7

Join us at this CMG Gives Back volunteer event as we get together to help those in need by serving brunch at FAITH MISSION GRANT KITCHEN! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “create a better world” by helping serve those in need. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces. PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for BRUNCH from 10:30am to 12:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 10:20pm and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking and available in the surrounding area. Please see links / attachments for additional info / details. IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing all of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain you’ll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please try to update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. With few exceptions, no shows or cancelations within 1 week of the event will not be eligible for future CMG Gives Back events. I appreciate your understanding as we try to ensure the agencies have the volunteers needed to provide the essential services they provide to the vulnerable population they serve. Our Partner Agency for this event is Lutheran Social Services! A huge THANK YOU to those volunteering at this (or any of our previous or future) CMG Gives Back events! Look forward to seeing you there, Dan

Dinner & a Movie: THE SOCIAL RECKONING at Cinemark Stoneridge + Chi Thai!

Dinner & a Movie: THE SOCIAL RECKONING at Cinemark Stoneridge + Chi Thai!

Sun, Oct 11, 5:20 PM
From The Columbus Movie Group
4.7

Join us as we get together to see THE SOCIAL RECKONING, a biographical-drama-legal-thriller and follow-up the 2010 film, The Social Network. The film stars Jeremy Allen White, Wunmi Mosaku, Jeremy Strong and Mikey Madison as a young Facebook engineer who helped blow the whistle on the social network's most guarded secrets. Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event. DESCRIPTION: A companion piece to The Social Network, the film tells the true story of how a young Facebook engineer enlisted the help of a Wall Street Journal reporter to go on a dangerous journey that blows the whistle on the social network's most guarded secrets. The film is written-directed by Aaron Sorkin and stars newly minted Best Actress winner Mikey Madison, along with Jeremy Allen White, Wunmi Mosaku, Betty Gilpin, Billy Magnussen, Bill Burr and Jeremy Strong. TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfHEZw7Xw_c MOVIE PLAN: Please purchase your ticket for the 1:40pm showing and meet inside the lobby area between 1:15 and 1:30pm! Matinee ticket prices just $7.50 and will move fast so advance ticket purchase as soon as possible is advised! Once you have yours, please list your seat number in the Comments section of this event. DINNER PLAN: CHI THAI! Immediately following the movie, we’ll take a short drive up Hamilton to make the Movie Group’s first visit to Chi Thai! Family run for 36 years, their menu offers something for everyone, blending Chinese and Thai cuisine and featuring familiar favorites like crispy Sesame Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, exceptional soups, perfect curries, or my favorite, Kung Pao Tofu! A foodie delight, their kitchen uses zero pre-packaged sauces or pre-cut ingredients, ensuring everything is made from scratch! The entire menu can be customized to be made gluten-free, spicy, non-spicy, with lots of vegetarian and vegan options! The restaurant is located at 5577 North Hamilton Road, has plenty of nearby parking, and we’ll have a section of the restaurant reserved for the group! We’ll head there immediately following the movie. (Side note: This is a first-ever visit for the Movie Group. But, vegetarians/vegans in the group may remember this place from Veg Group get-togethers here about 20-or-so-years ago!) Look forward to seeing you there, Dan
