The Sydney Gelato Circuit - Milson’s Point to Leichhardt!

The Sydney Gelato Circuit - Milson’s Point to Leichhardt!

Sat, Oct 17, 10:30 PM
From Aussie Explorers
4.8

**It's getting hot, it's that time of the year! Gelato time!** **We will stop at a minimum of 4 gelaterias, among the best Sydney has to offer.** **If you love gelato, this is the walk for you! Not only do you get to have as much as you want, but you get to use up the calories by walking them off.** **We will start at Milson’s Point at 9.30am.** **From here we will walk across the Harbour Bridge and around the coastline to Barangaroo, where we find our first stop, Rivarino Gelateria (I will think there is something drastically wrong with you if you don’t try and like their gelato).** **There is also an alternative near-by, Anita's Gelateria.** **From here we will head to the Fish Markets for Cow and the Moon Gelateria where we will stop for a 30 minute lunch. You can bring your own food, but why do that when you can have even more gelato!** **From here we will go to Tramsheds where there is Gelato Messina and then (if we are able to) we will walk through some parks in Annadale to Norton Street in Leichhardt at our final stop, Bar Italia or Lunetta Gelateria.** **Each gelateria stop will be around 15 mins (depending on the cues) and there is no obligation to have a gelato at every stop (although you will need to have at least one during the day).** **A bus from from here will take us back to the city.** **No problem if you are lactose intolerant, discreet “fluffing” is not encouraged but allowed as long as no one complains about you on the day!** **We will aim to finish without a feeling of overindulgence or indigestion by 3.30pm.** **\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*** **DISTANCE: About 16 km, pretty flat.** **GRADE: Medium, mainly because of the distance (I could have made it shorter but we have to burn the calories gained from the gelatos somehow).** **NOTE: Plenty of get-out points, just let the Host know if you leave the walk.** **IMPORTANT INFORMATION:** · **Be Prepared: Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring water (refill points available), and dress for the weather.** · **Follow Instructions: Please follow the instructions of the Host at all times and keep the Host within sight** · **RSVP Responsibly and Be Ontime at the Designated Meeting Point: Update your RSVP if you can’t make it.** **GRATUITY: $10 applies to this event which can be paid in cash on the day or PayID is 0439 344987 Cristian Sylvestre.** **\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*** **DISCLAIMER: Your health and safety is our priority and we take care to minimize risk and avoid accidents and injuries.** **However, Organizers and Hosts are not responsible for your health and safety and do not accept any liability for accidents and injuries that may occur during Meetup activities and events. Please take responsibility for your own safety and belongings.** **By RSVPing to this event you and your guests agree to comply with the terms and conditions of the Aussie Explorers Meetup group which can be found in the link below:** **[https://www.meetup.com/Aussie-Explorers](https://www.meetup.com/Aussie-Explorers/pages/28346396/Terms_and_Conditions_of_joining_Aussie_Explorers)** **\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*** **Any questions or concerns, please send me a TEXT message (0439 344 987) rather than unnecessary updates on the comments section.**

CLUB ROSE BAY LUNCH to Watson's Bay to Diamond Bay! Delightful 14kms Hike!

CLUB ROSE BAY LUNCH to Watson's Bay to Diamond Bay! Delightful 14kms Hike!

Sun, Oct 18, 12:00 AM
From WE HIKE. WE WALK... to the BAR. Social Sessions in Sydney
4.9

**[WE HIKE TO THE YACHT PARTY](https://www.meetup.com/hikewalktothebar/events/316397383/)** is on this Saturday, and I'm gonna need to move the body on Sunday... join me? *This hike is beautiful, and this hike will hold me accountable / save me from Beer #20 and waking up in Wagga Wagga with a "No Ragrets" tattoo.* Let's brunch / lunch first at one of the best pubs on Sydney Harbour. **CLUB ROSE BAY!** This place is so, so cool ‘cause it used to be a rundown RSL you wouldn’t dare go into. Wait ‘til you see **[Club Rose Bay](https://merivale.com/venues/club-rose-bay/)** now… the Merivale design, the food is so good (normal pub prices too), the military history, the pickleball & basketball courts. It’s this homely-decadent pub… with top-notch perving. We need to get there at pre-noon ‘cause by 2pm, this place is PUMPING every weekend. Our timing for lunch and a beer is 11am 'til 12:15pm (kitchen opens at 1130am)… let’s enjoy a proper pub lunch (you don't have to eat) then burn off the calories with a glorious journey. **Rose Bay to Watson's Bay and Diamond Bay is a 14kms classic...** the beaches, the neighbourhoods, and the trails. It's a relaxed journey with stunning views to Sydney Opera House... finishing with an unforgettable outlook to the opening of Sydney Harbour and whales migrating south! And if you like a Sunday lie in, this start time should soothe your sleepy soul. (NOTE: TEAM - I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH AS I'M BAFFLED AT HOW MANY HIKERS CANNOT FOLLOW DIRECTIONS - after you join this event on MeetUp, come back here and **[YOU MUST](https://chat.whatsapp.com/L2YDjxpdME66mZ5nTyd6GQ)**[ ](https://chat.whatsapp.com/L2YDjxpdME66mZ5nTyd6GQ)**[join our WHATSAPP GROUP by clicking on this link!!!](https://chat.whatsapp.com/L2YDjxpdME66mZ5nTyd6GQ)** **THE HIKE.** **Rose Bay to Watson’s Bay is 10kms** of Sydney Harbour in its glory… **Rose Bay, Milk Beach, Shark Beach, Parsley Bay Bridge,** and onto **Watson’s Bay** and perfect views of Sydney Harbour’s entrance at **South Head & Hornby Lighthouse**. It's an easy hike with very few up / downhills - a magical session through parks, neighbourhoods, beaches, and Sydney Harbour National Park. We'll continue **4kms** down the coast where **Diamond Bay** provides more stunning views... finishing at **Dudley Page Reserve** with Sydney CBD on view in the backdrop. From there: *a) Take the 380 bus back up to Watson's Bay, ferry to Circ Quay;* *b) Take the 380 bus and explore Bondi Beach (or take it to Bondi Junction); or* *c) Super quick Uber back to Rose Bay Wharf for the ferry.* If you know our hikes, you know we always find these "WOW" type places for a drink and a bite. Club Rose Bay is that place, and this hike a real gem to hike off the calories. Oh, and if you're only keen on the hike - just be outside at 1210pm, and we'll see you 5minutes after that! Jump in. Jump in Whatsapp, and we'll see you soon! MJ **_____________________________________________** **THE DETAILS.** **WHATSAPP.** You’re not 100% confirmed until you’re in the whatsapp group. Join it 'cause we love it, and we use it! Click on the link (above) – if not, sadly you’ll be removed from the event on MeetUP. **Cancels / No shows.** Treat your RSVP like a restaurant reservation. *No show / cancel on the day?* That restaurant is my hiking group – you won’t be welcomed in the future. Respect and manners matter as I put my credit card down for your reservation. Double booked with another group? Come on… be kind. **Gratuity.** $15 PayID or Cash. **Safety.** Let’s chat, let’s have some laughs… but let’s be safe. **Fitness.** Yup. Fitness matters for all of our hikes – especially if we are going into National Park. **Guests.** Bring mates, dates, co-workers. **Good energy, smiles, and laughs…** Bring ‘em all! You’re joining the most fun hiking group in Sydney. ***In pressing the “Attend” button for this hike, you acknowledge that:*** a) You are healthy and fit to complete the hike describe; b) You have read and will follow [NSW National Parks Bushwalking Safety Guidelines](https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/safety/bushwalking-safety) for this hike; c) You have no chronic / underlying health issues that deter you from completing this hike; d) You understand your host is just that – your host, not a professional hiker – and that you and you alone are responsible for your hiking health, safety, and wellness; e) You’ve been advised to download the “Emergency Plus App” and f) You’ve been advised to obtain individual [hiking insurance from 1Cover](https://www.1cover.com.au/adventure-travel-insurance/hiking-trekking/?utm_source=google&utm_source_platform=gads&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=13564994076&utm_term=adventure%20travel%20insurance&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=13564994076&gbraid=0AAAAAD_bfRAu6Io5ZkHeiIYCP_evtsQ_z&gclid=CjwKCAjwz5nGBhBBEiwA-W6XRLm8Itjn1am8sdPMxVhBtRmsDOWkolLlVATJcXW5jW-9JgB7hb9kMhoC7M0QAvD_BwE). g) Over 60yrs old, and new to the group? Hanging Rock, Blue Mountains

Hanging Rock, Blue Mountains

Sat, Oct 31, 10:30 PM
From WE HIKE. WE WALK... to the BAR. Social Sessions in Sydney
4.9

**Ya know what’s well hung? Rocco Siffreddi. Florida. And Hanging Rock.** One is in Italy. The other the USA. And the last that’s the shining star in this event just 1.5hrs from Sydney? The Blue Mountains. Hanging Rock looks crazy. Looks fun. Looks like we should check it out. NOTE. This is only a “I’m interested in this adventure” at this stage. The event is not on a Wednesday - it's just to gauge interest. We'll plan it / we’ll do this event with no more than 20 hikers. And of course... with a beer to "Cheers" at the end. Politely stating: if you’ve not hiked with the group before this event won’t be for you. I need to know your skill / ability. Please don't sign up if I don't have your mobile / haven't been on hikes before. Interested in some proper adventure? Sign up!
